- Steven W.1) Does the PPF damage my car paint after few years?
- No, Trapo PPF is using TPU material from BASF & Lubrizol that’s able to withstand high temperature and Ashland glue technology, it’s able to stay on top of the paint steadily and without damaging the paint.
2) After applying PPF, do we still need to apply coating?
- No, there is a layer of coating bond of top of PPF already, PPF is able to block >98% of UV from sunlight and protecting the paint from fade.
- However , we’re able to do as below to pass thru the toll :
1) Wind down the window and expose smart tag externally
2) Cut a small square on the windscreen and attach smart tag on it
3) Apply RFID on headlamp or stick behind the car number plate , as for Crystal / Dfend , it’s able to stick on the top right corner of windscreen .
3) Can we apply PPF on old car?
- We will need to check on the car paint condition before applying, as old / thin pain will have a risk of pulling the paint off from the car when removing PPF. For car that’s repainted, it’s advised to go with coating service to protect the car paint instead of PPF.
